Support groups are a nice way to feel connected with others who are going through similar challenges as yours, and to know that you are not alone in the struggles. Check it out!
Hello GT graduate student,
Studies indicate that up to 50% of graduate students will experience symptoms of depression, anxiety, or burnout during their academic career, but many may feel they don’t have the time to support their mental health. Summer is a great time to take advantage of on-campus services from the Center for Mental Health Care and Resources while your schedule may be more flexible.
CMHCR is offering a new group counseling option for the summer semester called the Graduate Thesis Support Group, which is specifically designed to support doctoral students through their dissertation journey. We also offer Graduate Men’s and Women’s groups, individual and couples counseling, and substance use and recovery services.
You can schedule an intake appointment by calling 404.894.2575 or by walking into our office in the Smithgall Student Services Building Suite 238 during business hours, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. After-hours counseling for students in crisis is available through our main office number, and students experiencing an emergency should call the Georgia Tech Police Department at 404.894.2500.
Here’s to your health and well-being!
Dr. Annan
