ABOUT

This site is made possible thanks to the generous long term support by ECE and the additional rounds of fundings from SGA/Mental Health Coalition. While linked to ECE’s Student Engagement Well-Being efforts, the information is available for all students across the campus. The focus of this website is to share information, little tips and pointers on various sensory based stress management tools.  In the modern world, we tend to get top heavy, brain busy, often leaving behind the body’s senses.  By incorporating awareness, intentional breathing, and other body based nerve calming exercises (often by providing healthy sensory input), we may initiate a cascade of shifts in our stress responses making ourselves feel better fast.

At the GT Campus, we are blessed to have a large number of employees who understand and embrace these tools, even some that are passionate and engaged in facilitating hosting the workshops and sessions.  Some of the names of the tools that are used include “Tapping” and “Havening®.” Although these psychosensory and sensory based modalities may be still be considered newer and experiential, there is mounting evidence emerging from clinical data and scientific studies (Resources Page.)   With the two rounds of SGA funding in 2023 and 2024, this new website for the Resilience@Tech initiative is being set up, with the goal to reach out to the student population also.

As many caring souls on the campus express, we operate on the belief that “if the information can help one person who is struggling, it is worth the effort.”  We invite the website visitors to also keep an open mind and open heart.  Give them a try and see for yourself how these tools may enhance your well-being and your mindfulness practice.  May them help you feel calmer, more grounded, happier, and may there be many other additional benefits.  If it doesn’t work the first round, consider joining some of our live events, as having a facilitator guide one through the process could enhance the experience.

For any questions or concerns, including workshops for your team or unit, please reach out to tapping@ece.gatech.edu with your desired time and date.
